Majo Priadka, ultra-runner
The Slovak ultra-running icon together with his coach Michal Salvo realized their first training camp in October 2024. Since Marian is training and working abroad, it is not certain whether he will be with us during the running camp. However, if he will be in Slovakia during the camp, he will be happy to come and see you and run some of the trails.
Alongside runs together and during the evenings, he will tell us about his training, lifestyle, race preparation and all the stories and experiences from his rich running life.
Michal Salva and Matej “Šibi” Schieber, coaches
The ultramarathon race is tough and the training is even tougher. Training therefore takes many forms, where increased mileage alone may not lead to success. Every race is, and always will be, about finishing as fast as possible. Coaches Michal and Matej will present the basics of ultramarathon training, how to build endurance, speed and a strong mind, which is the strongest weapon. Recovery is important in training and is an indispensable part of the training process. Equipment such as clothes, running backpacks, sneakers, the process of when to wear what, take off what, how to know the products, will advise you from practical experience Majo, Michal and Matej.
Morning Yoga with Evka
Regeneration, stretching and proper breathing is an indispensable part of running. Yoga is an art and science for life that brings harmony towards all layers of our being – physical, mental, emotional and intellectual. Yogic movement works into the depths of the structures. It brings relief at the level of muscles, tendons, fascia, tendons and bones.
Running is ultimately a very stereotypical forward movement and rotation in the torso while working the arms. Yoga can help to relax the postural musculature, which can prevent injuries from overuse and long-term fatigue. A regular yoga practice is not just relaxing and stretching. The postures greatly strengthen the core of the body, the functionality of which affects the dynamics of rebounding when running and stability on impact. Yoga also strengthens auxiliary and often neglected muscles. Using asanas and breath, we will strengthen our bodies and our minds.
Bc. Milan Valachovič
“Quality recovery is not only essential to perform better, but also very important in preventing injury and maintaining overall health.”
Christina Nettek – elements of sport
Milan is bringing different topics to the camp and we will choose from some of them or briefly go through all of them that will be of interest to us.
Diet: the principle of healthy digestion, ideal diet, split, vegan, vitarian… the importance of a living diet, Anti-nutrients.
Dietary supplements: natural and synthetic supplements, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, adaptogens, phytonutrients – what they are, how they work, what effect they have on athletic performance and body regeneration.
Detoxification systems: various functional methods of detoxification of the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, strive and nervous system.
Adaptogens: Rhodiola Rosea, Cordyceps, Bacopa, Milk Thistle, Ashwaganda, Gotu Kola, Ginseng… principle of function, active substances, their effect.
Hydration: importance of water in sports, type of water, RO, Quinton water. Importance of fruit and vegetable juices.
Oxygen: therapies – HBOT, exercises.
Sleep: Tips and tricks to improve your sleep – especially the principles.
Injuries: DMSO, PBM red/infrared light therapy, sound therapy, significant reduction in fracture healing.
Healing of the nervous system: bineural beats, sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve balancing, “Functional Principle” therapy.
Special devices used in sports and anti-aging clinics and among top athletes: the VIBE machine, ChiMachine, Rife Machine, Photo-Bio-Modulators, PEMF therapy and devices, Bio-Resonance diagnostic and therapeutic devices.
Grounding: therapeutic effect and influence on sports performance.
Liptov Sport Institute – Šimon Klimčík, fitness trainer
Šimon is one of the most renowned Slovak fitness trainers. Among others, he trains skier Petra Vlhová, Olympic medalist Jakub Grigar, and hockey talents such as Šimon Nemec. In his sports institute, we will work out together individual muscle parts that are important for running and ultra running. A short discussion will create space for debates about exercise, when and how to include it properly in the training process.
Hotel SNP Sorea***, Low Tatras
We will spend 4 nights with half board in the beautiful surroundings of the Low Tatras with a view of the Low Tatras. The hotel is equipped exactly for our running needs with various running trails, yoga outside or inside and a newly added wellness area with swimming pool and saunas.
A wide range of meals to choose from, breakfast or dinner. Comfortable rooms with views of the surrounding mountains.
Our sports partners have provided testing equipment for all camp participants, which we would like to present to you and you can try them directly in the field.
Salomon
One of the leading manufacturers of ultra-trail equipment brings us running sneakers to test. With Maj, who is a Salomon athlete, we will take a look at his collaboration with the brand and there will be a space for you to go through in detail the different types of clothing and accessories that he uses in races and during training. The sansport store will provide a full fitting of various Salomon sneakers, throughout the duration of the camp.
Dynafit
The Dynafit brand focuses on trail clothing, footwear and accessories alongside ski mountaineering. Throughout the camp you will be able to try some of their products. Their ambassador and coach Matej “Šibi” Schieber will introduce us to the company and their products. Also interesting is their DYNAFIT TRAIL HERO project, which we will talk more about together.
Petzl
Vertone – a dealer of not only Petzl headlamps will personally come to talk to us about headlamps and bring a few pieces to try out on our Thursday night run. Light is very important during a long night of running, and the comfort of the fit on your head during a hard run in mountainous terrain after 10 hours of wearing them must be near-perfect.
An excellent review was written by our Slovak ultra-runner Soňa Kopčoková.
Julbo
Its founder is Jules Beaud, who was born in Morez, France in the Jura Mountains. It is the heart of the French eyewear industry. He started his business with a single focus: innovation in optical eyewear. Responding to the needs of crystal hunters in Chamonix who were looking for eye protection in the mountains, Beaud created the first “Cristalliers” sunglasses in the early 20th century, starting Julbo’s journey in the field of optical sun protection.
It is best known for its Reactiv lenses, which darken and lighten according to the intensity of UV radiation. Majo, who is a member of the Julbo Team, can tell you about his experience with them. At the same time, you will be able to test the goggles directly in the field with a small lecture about the goggles directly from Martin’s importer, Julbo Slovakia.
